Look at everything with the possibility of scrapping with it! Include greeting cards, fast food bags, tv dinner boxes, junk mail, etc!
Don't be afraid to cut a sticker or stick it on the very edge (hanging off) of a page. Sometimes it adds a new dimension to your page. If you cut it, perhaps you can use the other half on the other side of the page.
When you want to add puchies to a page, consider punching them out of leftover picture! That will help pull together the pictures and decorations.
